Who we are
This website is run by Marlborough Granite Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), 30 Welbeck Road, Darnley Industrial Estate, Glasgow G53 7SD.
We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, contact us at sales@marlboroughgranite.com or on 0141 881 8200.
The information we collect
We only collect the personal information we need.
- When you contact us by phone, by email or in our showroom, we keep your name, your contact details and the details of your project, such as measurements, materials and the installation address.
- When you become a customer, we also keep quotes, orders, invoices and payment records.
- When you visit this website, we collect anonymous statistics about how the site is used (see “Website analytics” below). Our website host also keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- answer your enquiry and prepare a quote, which we do at your request before any contract is agreed;
- template, make, fit and invoice your worktops or stone work, which we need to do to carry out our contract with you;
- keep the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep;
- understand how our website is used so we can improve it, which is in our legitimate interests and uses anonymous data only.
We do not sell your information, we do not use it for marketing without your consent, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Website analytics
We use Rybbit to count visits to this website. Rybbit does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it does not store your IP address. It records anonymous information such as the pages viewed, the website that referred you, your browser, your type of device and your approximate country. This information cannot be used to identify you.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies, so you will not see a cookie banner.
If you choose to play the video on our Marble page, it is loaded from Vimeo with its “do not track” setting switched on. Links to other websites, such as our suppliers’ sites, take you to websites with their own privacy and cookie policies.
Who we share your information with
We only share your information when we need to, with:
- the companies that provide our email, IT and website hosting;
- our accountants and professional advisers;
- suppliers or delivery partners involved in your project, where they need your details to do their part.
Each of them must keep your information secure and use it only for the work they do for us. We will also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow up. If you become a customer, we keep job and invoice records for as long as UK tax law requires, which is currently six years. After that we delete or securely destroy them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or to limit how we use it;
- object to us using your information, and ask for it to be transferred to someone else.
To use any of these rights, email sales@marlboroughgranite.com or call 0141 881 8200. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.
Keeping your information safe
We take sensible steps to protect your information, including limiting who can see it and using secure, password protected systems.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
